5.1 Thermochemistry: Specific Heat
In any change in matter, there is a change in energy; energy flows in or out from the system. These changes, endothermic/exothermic, can be observed by changes in temperature as well as captured (in a manner of speaking) by using a calorimeter.
5.2 Thermochemistry: Enthalpy
Enthalpy is associated with changes in heat content (very like q; and is q under specified conditions). Enthalpy is the changes in heat content associated with changes in state, reactions, and compound formation; which also means changes in energy can be dealt with using stoichiometric amounts.
