Unit 3: Histology (Tissues)
|
3.1 Tissue Basics
- Identify the major levels of organization in living organisms
3.2 Tissue Types
- Identify the four major tissue types of the body and their roles
- Discuss the types and functions of epithelial cells
- Compare the structure and functions of the various types of connective tissues
- Describe & discuss how muscle & neural tissue are uniquely different from epithelial and connective tissues
Histology Practice Quiz
Go to Maricopa's Histology Practical Exam and practice identifying the different tissue slides. This does not replace the scope time you need to get in, but it will help with your histology practical.

How does it reinforce the themes of anatomy (form and function) and physiology (homeostasis)? PaperSlides
You need to review the Paperslides How-to Guide. The requirements:
This project is not edited: it's a one-take video. This is why you want to have a script. If you BYOD (bring your own device) for the recording, don't forget the cords to connect whatever you use with a computer/flashdrive for upload to my computer (& then on to the website). Sample
Or visit the Paperslides already posted on the website by going to a specific class, to a particular unit/chapter and following the pop-out menu's to the webpage |
Tissue Paperslides
from NursingCrib
You are going to explain to your classmates all about one class of tissues (identified on the form): where it's found, distinguishing characteristics, specifics about the relationship between form and function, how it is involved in maintaining homeostasis, whatever is pertinent. At left are the general directions for Paperslides; below are some specifics for this project.

Technology Goals
- Students demonstrate creative thinking, construct knowledge, and develop innovative products and processes using technology. Students create original works as a means of personal or group expression.
- Students apply digital tools to gather, evaluate, and use information. Students locate, organize, analyze, evaluate, synthesize, and ethically use information from a variety of sources and media.
- Students demonstrate a sound understanding of technology concepts, systems, and operations. Students troubleshoot systems and applications and transfer current knowledge to learning of new technologies.
